biography

Joseph was born in 1924 in Zirl, in the district of Innsbruck, "unplanned". The parents are not married yet. First, to foster care, he gets to know his parents only during the primary school. In 1935 he visited in Graz, the Prince Bishop's minor seminary. In 1938, after dissolution of the monastery, he grows up to the seventh Grade on. In 1942 he was mustered, starting on 1 March 1943 in Breslau, then in Stralsund, the flight training, flying at age 18, the Ju 88, the Focke Wulf 190 and the "Bumblebee", the famous 204 Siebel Dora.
